The name 'Zircon' derives from the Persian word 'zargun' meaning golden hued. These gems are not to be confused with Cubic Zirconia (CZ) which is a man-made substance.
In the Middle Ages, zircons were believed to induce sleep, as well as promote honor and wisdom. Zircon was believed to bring prosperity to its owner and drive away plagues and evil spirits.
Zircon is a rare gem. In fact, it is much rarer than diamonds! Zircon also comes closer to resembling diamonds than any other natural gem. Its superior luster and intense fire give it a real sparkle that is comparable to a diamond.
Rose Zircons have colors that are reminiscent of Imperial Topaz or fine Malaya Garnet. Colors range from peachy-pink to pink to reddish-pink.
